Why I Journal
“Journal writing is a voyage to the interior.” — Christina Baldwin
I started journal writing consistently over four years ago and have not stopped. I don’t write every day. There are times when I haven’t written anything for weeks, but I find if it’s been too long, my journal calls to me to come back and write.
My journal is special to me, and I am particular about how it looks and feels. When I am looking for a new one, I want the book to call me to write inside. I love a cover with texture and an illustration or pattern which has an esoteric feel. The pages will have a slight texture, and be off white. As my journal is a place for my thoughts, I want it to be something that says you are worth it.
I love journaling because there is something precious about taking the time to reflect and write about your thoughts and feelings. I find it relaxing and cathartic.
What I write about
My journal is a place I can vent my anger and frustration without anyone getting upset with me. Pouring out my emotions onto a page, I can work through what I feel until I see my part in the scenario. I can see how I contributed to what was going on, mistakes I made and think about what I could do better next time.
