Journaling Tips
If you are anything like me when it comes to journaling, you will know that it’s a great thing to do, but it just doesn’t happen anywhere near what you would like. It certainly does not occur every day, as suggested by many people.
I have been journaling for over four years, and before that, it was very hit and miss. I have several diaries from prior years with only a few pages written. This is no longer the case. I have been going through a few journals each year since I have created the habit of writing.
Here a few tips for journaling.
It doesn’t have to be on paper.
Who said a journal has to be handwriting. You can type your journal. Some people using their computer, as typing is quicker, and your hand won’t cramp. If typing is your preferred method of journaling you could use Microsoft Word, notes on your phone, or start a blog that you don’t share.
There are no rules
You can journal in any format you like and as often as you like. The ideal might be to write something every day, but it doesn’t matter if you don’t. The journal writing process is for you. The aim is to get something written. If it doesn’t happen every day, don’t beat yourself up over it, perfection is not a requirement.
