Gratitude — The Simple Things
Gratitude is a bit of a buzzword these days. There are lots of posts about being grateful, and what to be grateful about. I have heard snippets of Oprah, and she talks about the power of being grateful for the smallest of things.
We live in a society based on consumerism. We are constantly on the hunt for the next new thing that sparks our desire. It’s a continuous cycle, buy, joy, integrate, and take for granted, only to do it all again to feel the sense of happiness over a new thing.
Even with our busy lives, gratitude helps us focus on what we have rather than what we desire.
Being grateful for simple pleasures, like drinking a cup of coffee, having a cosy bed to sleep in, and enjoying the morning sunrise. Taking time to appreciate these small things help focus our minds on the positive things in our lives.
Gratitude is defined as a strong feeling of appreciation for someone or something. It is an emotion we have for receiving something. It is also taking a moment to feel appreciative of what you have and being glad for it.
